Fish fillets (like cod or tilapia) Fresh ginger Soy sauce Garlic Green onions Sesame oil Lemon Sugar
Rinse and pat the fish fillets dry. Place them in a steaming dish, ready for the delicious flavors to soak in!
Grate about 1 tablespoon of fresh ginger. This will infuse the fish with a fragrant, zesty flavor.
Mince 2 cloves of garlic for that rich, aromatic kick. Garlic pairs perfectly with ginger and soy sauce.
In a bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of water. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
Stir the grated ginger and minced garlic into the soy sauce mixture. This sauce will coat the fish beautifully when steamed.
Pour the ginger soy sauce mixture evenly over the fish fillets. Ensure the fish is well coated for maximum flavor.
Steam the fish for about 10-12 minutes until it’s fully cooked and flakes easily with a fork.
Garnish with freshly chopped green onions and a squeeze of lemon. Serve hot and enjoy your ginger soy steamed fish!
