Moong dal (yellow lentils) Green chilies Ginger Onion Coriander leaves Turmeric powder Salt to taste Water for batter Oil
Rinse 1 cup of moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 4-6 hours or overnight. This helps in softening the dal for easy grinding and better texture in the cheela.
After soaking, drain the water from the moong dal and transfer it to a blender. Add a little water and blend into a smooth batter. The consistency should be similar to pancake batter not too thick or runny!
Transfer the batter into a bowl and add finely chopped green chilies, grated ginger, chopped onions, turmeric powder, coriander leaves, and salt. Mix everything well to infuse the batter with fresh flavors!
Heat a non stick pan or tawa and grease it with ghee or oil. Pour a ladle of the batter and spread it into a thin circle. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Repeat with the rest of the batter.
Your moong dal cheela is now ready to serve! Crispy, golden on the outside and soft inside. Serve hot with green chutney or yogurt for the perfect breakfast treat!
Packed with protein, fiber, and essential nutrients, Moong Dal Cheela is an ideal choice for a healthy meal anytime of the day. Enjoy this wholesome recipe as breakfast, lunch, or a snack!
