Start your day with a warm, delicious plate of Matar Poha! Made with flattened rice, peas, and spices, this dish is quick, nutritious, and full of flavor. Let’s dive into the recipe!
Poha (flattened rice) Peas (matar) Onion, finely Green chilies Mustard seeds Turmeric powder Salt to taste Curry leaves Oil Lemon juice Coriander
Start by rinsing the poha under running water for a few seconds. Drain well and let it sit for a few minutes until the flakes soften. This is the base for your Matar Poha!
In a pan, heat 1 tbsp of oil. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Then add curry leaves, chopped onions, and green chilies. Sauté until the onions are soft and golden, and the aroma fills the air!
Add the peas (matar) to the pan, followed by turmeric powder. Mix well and cook for a few minutes until the peas are tender and well coated with the spices.
Add the softened poha to the pan and gently mix it with the spiced pea mixture. Stir well to ensure the poha is coated with all the flavors. Add salt to taste and cook for another 2-3 minutes to heat it through.
