Rajma Urad Dal is a hearty, protein rich dish combining kidney beans (rajma) and black urad dal. Perfect for a filling, nutritious meal
KIdney beans (rajma) Black urad dal Onions Tomatoes Garlic ,Ginger Spices :Cumin ,Turmeric , red chili powder, Ghee , salt, garam masala Butter, fresh cream
Soak 1 cup of rajma and ½ cup of urad dal in water for at least 6-8 hours or overnight. This will help them cook faster and become tender
Add the soaked rajma and urad dal to the pot along with 4 cups of water. Let it simmer for about 30 minutes or until the beans are soft and tender.
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, chopped onions, garlic, and ginger and tomato Sauté until golden brown to create a flavorful tempering for your dal.
Add ,cumin powder, garam masala,red chili powder and salt , kasoori methi to the tadka. creating a savory base.
Add cooked dal, and 1 cup water. Let it cook over medium flame for 4-5 minutes or until you get the desired consistency.
Add butter,fresh cream Mix well and cook for a minute.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve this delicious, protein-packed Rajma Urad Dal with steamed rice or naan for a wholesome meal.
