Kickstart your day with a nutritious and savory Samba Rava Upma. A classic South Indian dish packed with flavors and goodness!
Start by dry roasting 1 cup of Samba Rava on low heat for 3-4 minutes until it turns light golden. This step gives the rava a nice texture.
In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and green chilies. Sauté for a minute to release the flavors.
Add chopped veggies like carrots, peas, and beans. Stir fry for a couple of minutes until they soften but stay crisp.
Pour in 2 cups of water, season with salt, and bring it to a boil. The spices will infuse the water with flavor.
Slowly add the roasted Samba Rava into the boiling water, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Cook on low heat until the rava absorbs all the water.
Garnish your upma with fresh coriander leaves and a squeeze of lemon juice. Serve hot for a perfect meal to enjoy at any time of the day!
