Ingredients

For Aloo Gobi Tikki:

  • 2 Cups Cauliflower florets, finely chopped
  • 2 Medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 Small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 Green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp Cornflour or breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

For Chaat Assembly:

  • Green chutney (mint-coriander chutney)
  • Tamarind chutney (sweet and tangy)
  • Thick yogurt, whisked
  • Sev (crunchy chickpea flour noodles)
  • Chopped onions
  • Chopped tomatoes
  • Chopped cilantro leaves
  • Chaat masala
  • Red chilli powder
  • Lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Aloo Gobi Tikki:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes, finely chopped cauliflower, chopped onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well to form a uniform mixture. 
  • Add cornflour or breadcrumbs to the mixture and knead lightly to bind everything together. 
  • Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into round patties (tikkis).

 Cook the Tikkis:

  • Heat oil in a pan for shallow frying. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the tikkis in the pan. 
  • Shallow fry the tikkis on medium heat until they turn golden brown and crispy on both sides. Drain excess oil on paper towels.

Assemble the Chaat:

  • Arrange the fried tikkis on a serving plate.
  • Drizzle green chutney and tamarind chutney over the tikkis according to your taste preference.
  • Spoon whisked yogurt over the tikkis.
  • Sprinkle sev, chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, and chopped cilantro leaves on top
  • Sprinkle chaat masala and red chili powder for added flavor
  • Garnish with lemon wedges.
