- 500 grams Large Shrimp, Cleaned and Deveined
- 2 Large Onions, Finely Sliced
- 2 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
- 1/4 Cup Curry Leaves
- 2 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
- 1 tbsp Cumin Powder
- 1 tbsp Garam Masala
- 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tbsp Tamarind Paste
- 1 tbsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 tbsp Fenugreek Seeds
- 1/2 Cup Cooking Oil
- Salt to taste
Marinate the Shrimp
In a bowl, mix the shrimp with turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Allow it to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Prepare the Tamarind Paste
Heat Oil and Tempering
In a pan, heat cooking oil. Add mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds
Once the seeds splutter, add finely sliced onions and curry leaves. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
Add Spices
Sprinkle red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and garam masala over the shrimp. Mix well to coat the shrimp evenly.
Add Tamarind Paste
Pour in the tamarind paste, adjusting the quantity to your taste preference. Allow the mixture to simmer for 5-7 minutes.
Check Seasoning and Serve
Taste the Andhra Spicy Shrimp Fry and adjust salt and spice levels if needed.
Once the shrimp are fully cooked, remove from heat.
Garnish and Serve Hot
Garnish with fresh curry leaves.
