Instructions

How to make Chicken Lollipop recipe

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken Lollipops

    • Start by preparing the chicken wings. Using a sharp knife, separate each wing into three parts: the drumette, the flat or wingette, and the wing tip. Discard the wing tips or save them for making stock.
    • For each drumette, gently push the meat and skin towards the thicker end to expose the bone, creating the lollipop shape. You can also push the meat down further for a cleaner presentation.
    • Repeat this process for all the chicken wings until you have 12 lollipops.

    Step 2: Marinate the Chicken

    • In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, ginger-garlic paste, chili sauce, paprika, black pepper, and salt.
    • Add the chicken lollipops to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate for up to 4 hours for maximum flavor.

    Step 3: Coat the Chicken

    • In a shallow dish, beat the egg. In another shallow dish, place the all-purpose flour.
    • Dip each marinated chicken lollipop first in the beaten egg, then coat evenly with the flour, shaking off any excess.

    Step 4: Fry the Chicken

    • Heat oil in a deep frying pan or pot to 350°F (175°C).
    • Carefully add the coated chicken lollipops to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.
    • Fry the chicken lollipops for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and cooked through.
    • Remove the fried chicken lollipops from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Step 5: Serve the Chicken Lollipops

    • Transfer the fried chicken lollipops to a serving platter.
    • Garnish with chopped cilantro or green onions, if desired.
    • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce, barbecue sauce, or ranch dressing.
