Instructions

How to make Chicken Manchurian

    1. Marinate the Chicken:

    • In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with soy sauce, ginger-garlic paste, cornflour, all-purpose flour, beaten egg, and salt. Ensure the chicken pieces are evenly coated. Let it marinate for 20-30 minutes

    2. Fry the Chicken:

    • Heat oil in a pan for deep frying. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated chicken pieces in batches and fry until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove from oil and drain excess oil on paper towels.

    3. Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a separate pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil. Add chopped garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for a minute until fragrant. Add chopped onions and capsicum. Stir-fry on high heat for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly softened but still crunchy.

    4. Make the Sauce:

    • Add soy sauce, tomato ketchup, chilli sauce (if using), vinegar, sugar, and salt to the pan. Mix well. Pour in 1 cup of water and let the sauce come to a simmer.

    5. Thicken the Sauce:

    • Once the sauce is simmering, add the cornflour-water mixture while stirring continuously. This will help thicken the sauce to your desired consistency.

    6. Combine with Fried Chicken:

    • Add the fried chicken pieces to the sauce and toss until they are well-coated.

    7. Garnish and Serve:

    • Garnish Chicken Manchurian with chopped spring onions. Serve hot as an appetizer or with steamed rice or noodles as a main course.
