Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Fresh coriander leaves (cilantro), washed and chopped
  • 1 Cup Fresh mint leaves, washed and chopped
  • 2-3 Green chilies, chopped (adjust according to spice preference)
  • 1 Small onion, chopped
  • 2 Cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Roasted cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water, as needed

Instructions

  • Wash the coriander leaves and mint leaves thoroughly under running water. Drain excess water.
  • In a blender or food processor, add the chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilies, chopped onion, garlic cloves, ginger, lemon juice, roasted cumin powder, and salt. 
  • Blend all the ingredients together until you have a smooth paste. If necessary, add a little water to make blending easier and to achieve the desired consistency. 
  • Taste the chutney and adjust the seasoning according to your preference. Add more salt or lemon juice if required.
  • Once blended to the desired consistency and taste, transfer the green chutney to a clean container or serving bowl.
  • Serve the green chutney immediately with your favorite snacks such as samosas, pakoras, or sandwiches. Alternatively, refrigerate it in an airtight container for later use.
