  • 4 Cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 Cup Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • Fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary (optional)

How to make lemon chicken recipe

    1. Prepare the Marinade: 

    • In a bowl, zest and juice the lemons. Add minced garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, and any desired fresh herbs. Mix well to combine. 

    2. Marinate the Chicken:

    • Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag.
    • Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it's evenly coated. Massage the marinade into the chicken.
    • Cover the dish or seal the bag, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse. For best results, marinate for up to 2 hours. 

    3. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

    4. Cook the Chicken:

    • Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes. 
    • Transfer the chicken along with the marinade into a baking dish. 
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the juices run clear. You can also check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer, which should read 165°F (75°C). 
    • Optionally, you can broil the chicken for the last 2-3 minutes to achieve a golden brown color on top.

    5. Rest and Serve:

    • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. 
    • Garnish with fresh lemon slices and additional herbs if desired.
