  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp Oil

Instructions

Prepare the Koftas:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine crumbled paneer, mashed potatoes, cornflour, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth dough-like mixture. If the mixture is too dry, add a little water. Divide the mixture into small portions and shape them into round koftas. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, fry the koftas until they turn golden brown Remove and drain excess oil on a paper towel. Set aside.

Prepare the Gravy:

  • In a blender, make a smooth paste using soaked cashew nuts and a little water.Heat oil in a separate pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw aroma disappears. Pour in the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the masala. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well. Add the cashew paste and cook for a few minutes. Pour in fresh cream and mix until well combined. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Assemble the Dish:

  • Just before serving, gently add the fried koftas into the gravy. Simmer for a couple of minutes until the koftas absorb some of the gravy flavors. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
